About Core Collective

We started with a simple, annoying problem

Every single grocery run in South Africa costs you extra — a few Rand here, a few Rand there for plastic bags that tear before you've even loaded the boot. It adds up to hundreds of Rand a year, and every one of those bags outlives the groceries it carried by decades, ending up in landfills, storm drains, and along our coastlines.

Core Collective started as a response to that one frustration: why are we still paying for something this disposable, this often, when a better answer already exists?

One product, done properly

We stopped trying to be everything to everyone. Core Collective is now built around a single product we believe in completely: a foldable, large-capacity reusable grocery tote that folds down into its own compact pouch — small enough to clip to your keys, your handbag, or your belt loop, so it's genuinely with you every time you shop, not just the times you remember to grab it.

No gimmicks, no oversized catalog of things you don't need. Just one well-made bag that pays for itself in a handful of trips and keeps saving you money — and keeping plastic off our streets — for years after that.

Built for how South Africans actually shop

We designed this with real trolley-and-taxi-rank life in mind:

  • Durable ripstop nylon that handles a full weekly shop without stretching or tearing
  • Folds into a compact pouch with a metal clip, so it lives on your keys or bag instead of forgotten in a drawer
  • Machine washable and built to outlast hundreds of trips
  • Local delivery via Courier Guy and Pargo, with secure checkout through Yoco

Our promise

We're not here to sell you ten things you'll use once. We're here to sell you the one thing you'll use every week, that quietly saves you money and keeps a little more plastic out of the environment every time you use it.

That's the whole business. That's Core Collective.
